Sore Thumb

S Dakota > Custer SP > Needles Eye Area

Description

This aptly named spire has one of the most classic needles routes on its north face. Standing at the base it is hard to imagine the overhang going at 5.9. A must do for anyone who enjoys crack climbing.

Getting There

Head downhill from the Needle's Eye parking area. Stay east and pass through the notch at the base of Goldline. The overhanging north face of the sore thumb should quickly come into view.
