Description

This boulder was named when Dave Asscherick did the FA of Anomaly (V5) and he felt it was unlike anything else at Baldy. It's steep and hosts two very powerful problems, Sit Down and Be Counted (V8) and the Pugilist (V7) as well as Anomaly and a few easier lines.

Getting There

This boulder is on the south-southwest side of Baldy. When approaching Baldy from the main trail, keep left to enter Old Baldy's Melon Patch. Locate the Honeydew, Wish, and Lip Boulders (these are usually the boulders thought of when mentioning the Melon Patch) adjacent to the northwest-bound trail, then travel 45 yards east. The Anomaly Boulder is the southernmost formation in a cluster alongside the Criminal Element and Fly By Boulders at the base of the Old Baldy massif.
