Approach to Butterfly Wall

Take the maintained Butterfly Trail from Mt. Bigelow radio towers (can also start from Palisade Ranger Station (mandatory when unpaved roads closed in winter) or Incinerator Ridge road). After about 30 minutes you can see the top of the Butterfly wall. Follow the gps track along a faint climber trail down along the south side of the formation (10 more minutes to the base).
