The trail to the peak runs parallel to the west campground parking lot, about 100 feet to the north. There are a few paths that lead to the trail, or you can bushwhack north for 100 ft from any point in the parking lot. The trail is initially wide and looks almost like a small road. Go left once reaching this trail, following it in the direction of the peak, for less than a mile. It'll end at an intersection with two signs. Go right onto the Waw Giwulk trail to the summit. This climbs steadily for 4.2 miles and 3,332 feet of elevation gain to eventually reach the Lion's Ledge. Near the end of the trail, you should be able to make out the Great Ramp, a massive, bare slabby ramp which defines the entire lower north side of Baboquivari Peak. The trail will also become overgrown and less defined. At the end it branches a bit; stay left. The trail ends at the Great Ramp, which marks the beginning of the Standard Route (West approach of the Forbes-Montoya Route).
