Approach to Beer Crag

On Google Maps, go to the "Elm Hill Recreation Area" off Elm Hill Pike. Parking is connected to the Safe Harbor RV Resort. At the roundabout, don't go straight into the RV Resort, take the right for the automated gate. Parking is $8 per car. From the gravel lot next to the boat launch, walk along the cove on an obvious trail for 15min until you reach the other side of the cove. Alternatively, you can paddle from the boat launch to the other side in 2 minutes.

Paddling is highly recommended as starting from a water craft is easier than a float start in water. This is a popular swimming area that sees traffic daily. Be sure to pack in and pack out your trash and wear foot protection as glass is all over the ground.

Park in the gravel lot right at the boat launch as the concrete parking lot is strictly for boaters with trailers. You'll get towed.
