Approach to Evening Rock

Stay on main Cottonwood Trail until you see the main drainage on your left. The turn off is marked by a wooden post in the ground. Follow the well beaten in climbers trail through the meadow until you start to hit steeper terrain and switchbacks. Go up the switchbacks until you see a small meadow on your right (level with the toe of Evening Rock). Go off trail here, and side hill your way over to Evening Rock.
