In the description of Royal Flush ( mountainproject.com/v/royal… ), there is a "Gunks-like roof and belay at Yosemite Ledge" in "pitch 16". I guess these are supposed to be pretty descriptive, but I haven't had the privilege of climbing in those places yet. What are these supposed to look like?

Yosemite Ledge would seem to be the name given to that specific ledge. Capitalization should be a hint - although admittedly MP is not known for correct grammar.
I would have thought the same, but nothing on the route looks to me like the horizontal cracks I've seen in pics from the Gunks. I was hoping someone knew more about this particular route, because there's also discussion of a blocky roof two pitches up from the Gunks-like roof.
I think the “Gunks-like roof” in the description refer to the fact that the “roof” is only 5.8. A true roof that’s less than 5.10 is fairly difficult to find anywhere except in the Gunks. However, the “roof” on Royal Flush is nothing like the roof you’ll find in the Gunks. It’s less than 4 feet wide, and the rock doesn’t have the same horizontal characteristics. The “Yosemite Ledge” is a narrow ledge after the “Gunks roof”. The expansive view probably reminded someone of Yosemite, hence the name.
