Hey there, I am have been planning on the valley for a few weeks this April, but with all the precip this year I am considering heading to Moab/grand junction instead. Anybody have any beta to help me decide?

Who knows? It was super nice and warm in Feb, now it's snowing and raining again. It's going to be a roll of the dice.

Hi,

If you said, 'for a week in April', true, the conditions this year merit concern. But if you really have a few weeks, it will work out - you can climb down canyon during raining days, during the breaks, and there should be enough 4-5 day stretches of good weather to make long routes attainable.......my two cents, at least ;)

April could be warm and dry or cold and wet. Depends on the weather. But it does dry out quickly on south facing stuff. Or down canyon as Erik said. Go to the valley. It'll be good.

thanks for the input guys, living up here on the redwood coast make me think everywhere rains nonstop for three weeks straight:)

Moab and Yosemite are about the same in terms of April weather- nice temps, possibly some precipitation. I'd pick based on which one I'd rather climb at.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
