THE popular area for moderates on Sinks limestone. Fun routes on good rock in the 10 and under range makes the Scud Area the most popular and crowded area, particularly on weekends. Classics include Stud Alert (10b) and Duck Soup (9+). In additon to the Scud Wall, there is the Summit Pinaccle, downhill from the wall. It hosts a 5.6 trad ridge line, in addition to 3 sport lines (a 12, 11, and 10). If you've climbed here (or climbed it out) and want more Sinks moderates, head on over to Fairfield Hill to get away from the crowds. If your a front range local, you might be saying, 'what crowds'?
Getting There
From the main parking lot, take the right trail up to the Killer Cave and continue 100 yards to the right.
Climbed 2 routes towards right end of Scud Area that local said most people don't climb and grades felt stiff. How do the rest of the areas at Sinks compare, right on, sandbagged, etc?
