DescriptionTwo sedimentary pinnacles rise above the Beef Trail (the hiking/cattle roundup trail which winds its way down the open meadows on the other side of Shell Creek from Highway 14) as it nears the bottom of the canyon. They sit only a short distance above the trail and are close together, making for a pleasant two tower day in the scenic lower reaches of the canyon. Getting ThereIf you're coming from Shell, drive a short distance into the mouth of the canyon and park in the small gravel pullout on the right side of the road just opposite from the bridge crossing Shell Creek. The ClassicsMountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Beef Trail Towers:
West Chimney 5.8 PG13 Trad, 2 pitches, 135 feet The Splinter
North Face 5.9 C1 Trad, Aid, 1 pitch, 55 feet Shell Canyon Spire
