Schlick on The Loner V6

Description

The Lonely boulders are a group of three separate boulders on the opposite end of Barn Bluff from the Qual Wall. These guys have been waiting a long time to see some action... The better problems here are some of the finest in the park with steep climbing on generally solid holds. With more than a dozen problems I thought I would throw this area in because of quality and concentration. You can definitely get away from everyone/everything at this spot. Peaceful, quiet. Almost feels remote.

Getting There

Hike around the corner, past the Qual Wall and head for the other end of the bluff. Do not hike too high for the boulders are down aways from the top. There is no trail persay, but follow the most open way through the prickers.

One of the fun problems on this boulder.

Only the Lonely V4  WI : Governor Dodge State Park : Lonely Boulders
Only the Lonely climbs out the overhanging bulge using holds on the left and right. Start out with left hand on incut finger bucket, right hand on good side pull pocket. Work up a bit on opposing side pulls to a an all out huck to the jug on the right. This is and extremely satisfying move. Jugs to the top....[more]   Browse More Classics in WI

It looked like someone was working(or sent) a line that was on the steep face to the right of Another Day Dream. Dobbe and I got on it yesterday and we were really impressed by the cool, steep movement climbing out. Dobbe broke the good flake off so now it is much harder.
