BETA PHOTO: The Wave Boulder as you come up the hill.

Description

A nice cluster of boulders and cliff band overlooking a green prarie. Three established lines thus far on The Wave Boulder. Several lines yet to be done including a tall (17ft), potentially V7? face among other routes.

Getting There

Directions are a trick. I will eventually post images from google with a map. For now ...
Park at group camp A. Hike up to the bluff at site A, and get to the ridgetop by walking right (west) around the bluff. The ridgetop is a nice open prarie. Cross the prarie, and hike to the far western edge. From here drop into the woods, and down into the valley below. Cut easily across the valley to the south facing cliff band. Here is where the good stuff lies.

Yo Trav-- This is not Gov Dodge property, the park boundary is basically the western edge of the clearing above Site A. The wave boulder is really cool, which is unfortunate since I guess it's trespassing on private property. See this for discussion regarding the landowners wishes.

The project is cool. Wish I had had more 1) tips 2) balls and 3) time!!! It could go but not when it's this humid-- but for the record, since now that I know it's on private property, I will not return. I think it would have required the use of a half-pad super-sharp mono. Ugh...

Heard you had fun at Rattlesnake, wish I coulda met you out there, jobs suck!

Thanks for checking out the boundary. Thats a bummer. If I were going to be in the area longer I might try and schmooze the owner into allowing access for climbers...Not that they would be likely to agree or anything...
