Looking down on the mid portion of Cracking Up.


Description 

Cracking up is a nice 5.6 to the right of Bagatelle (rt 179). Ascend the very steep initial section using some stemming. About 10 feet off the deck try some solid laybacks and inch your way up until holds appear on the right-hand wall. Climb about 15 feet to another section of laybacks. Use this technique to get near the top, then finish on easier terrain.

The photo below on the left looking down the route is actually on Pretzel and not Cracking Up. A little mix up in the posting process.

You don't actually need Big Bros for this ... I used large hexes. Instead of stemming at the crux, you could also lieback.

This is a very nice route that deserves to be done more often!
