Rock Climbing Photo: Finally done - Lumpy ridge
Hello, my friend and i are headed to Cochise for new years, and we'll drive through Taos on the way. We wanted to spend a day climbing there. Are there any crags that get good sun in the winter with some moderate 10's and 11's, and possibly camping close by. We are thinking of heading that way in couple days from Denver.
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thank you!

If it's sunny with no wind, Tres Piedras can be really nice in the dead of winter. Check out the Gorge as well. kboofis

You will probably drive through Santa Fe, no? Diablo Canyon is a much better winter destination than anything around Taos. Winter Wall and Solar Cave are great in the winter. the schmuck

Thank you very much for the ideas, we'll give Taos a shot and then may be even check Diablo canyon, it looks really fun. I'll let you know what comes out of it.

Skip Taos in the winter, cold. You would be better served by Winter Wall in Diablo, White Rock, The Box in Socorro. Bill M
