What does it take to put up a long new route in the Potrero Chico? Well, to start with, a large front porch full of gear.

Also, see the first pics of a steep new cave being developed near the Potrero.

What kind/brand are the bolts for the directed hangers? There will be protruding threaded bolt, looks like.

(What you are calling cactus seems to be Sotol or a yucca maybe)

Those are wedge bolts by Powers. If you place them correctly they only protrude about a quarter of an inch. The cactus are Lechuguilla. We do also have Sotol and Yuccas but not usually on the walls. Ed Wright
