Description A great alternative to McTech Arete, especially when the weather is marginal. West Side Story is the rap route for McTech, so it's easy to get off of at any pitch. Just watch out for the rope catcher coming off of the 3rd to bottom (?) rap. More than one party have stuck their cord at the beginning of a storm. The climbing is fun and varied, from thin face climbing to great hand cracks to off-width! A few pitches are real rope stretchers. You will need a 60m rope.
Location Crescent Spire. The route begins in the corner climber's left of the obvious roof, left of McTech. 7 20-30m raps from the summit.
Protection Chain anchors at every pitch, in good repair as of September 2008. Varied protectability, sometimes marginal. Gear to 4" is handy. I believe I appreciated doubles in BD #1,2 and 3.

| Climbed in late July 2012. Pitch 2 was dirty but fun, great exposure. |
