Bouldering that is most easily accessed by hiking up the Fire Road off of the South Shore road towards Prospect Point.

Getting There

Used to be you could park along the road across from the Park Service lot off of the South Shore Road and walk east uphill on the road.

Now, with the no parking sign, best bet is to park at the south shore and walk the west bluff trail to prospect point and then west down the fire road.

The 2 problems very near FRB have been done before plus a few other problems right in that cluster. Sorry, but I don't recall names. However, I went to check out Dreamo Bluff and South of fire road area earlier this week and I've never been on them before. First ascents to my knowledge. Some fun problems, Nice job!

There is now a "no parking" sign at the fire road entrance. Best place to park now looks like down by the boat launch on the South Shore. Chris, can you update the description?

This also changes things for Prospect Point rope climbing.

Neighbors must have finally complained loudly enough.

Definitely adds a good bit of a hike. Steve is right, the fastest way to approach this area now seems to be parking at the cabins, hiking to the dumpster boulder, then heading straight up the hill toward the real power. From there, the 45 boulder is slightly uphill and to the south.

For what it's worth, I don't think that hiking up through the talus will be the fastest way to get to the 45. Though it would take you past a number of excellent problems. Hiking on the West Bluff trail that takes you to the top of the bluff will be the quickest and easiest way to get to the 45 and the fire road problems. My guess is that it'd take 10-15 minutes, though it has been a while since I've taken that route.

Yes. Steve is right. Not sure why I didn't think of that.
