The lower Tieton crags (Royal Columns and the Bend) are closed for raptor nesting beginning February 1 each year. Depending on nest location and success, the closure can be lifted as early as April or as late as July.

Description
The most popular area at the Bend, especially around Pure Joy (5.10c), where there are a dozen or so quality routes packed into a concentrated area. Some routes on the left are accessed from a ledge system.
Morning shade, comes into the sun by mid-afternoon.
Getting There
Turn right upon reaching the crag and hike up the hill. To reach the Pure Joy area, take the final left-hand spur.
