Dave Stephens sampling Chicken Spread

Description

Double check all of your bolts before you clip them. There are a couple of old rusty nasty bolts that aren't of any use to you and should be chopped.

The crux is about 1/2 way up the wall, before you go over the lip.

Bring your garden shears, to get to the anchors you have to climb over a rose bush. Don't whip on the last bit or you will have the afore mentioned rose bush giving you an enema.

HARD FOR THE GRADE

Location

Start just left of the 8 foot tall granite spire that is next to the slimy 'waterfall' that is running down from the water tower above.

Protection

Bolts, a bunch of them.

CONDITION REPORT

climbed the route yesterday and the crux was dry. water is still running on the right, but it's not a problem on Chicken Spread.

Just a heads up, someone chopped down the rosebush, as of 11/15/08, but now the 'small trickle' of water to the right of the route has grown and the crux is pretty wet and slimy.
