BETA PHOTO: Feeling the start holds for Neil's Lunge in the wa...

Description

Originally called The Tomato Overhangs, but nowadays more often simply referred to as the Warm-up Area or "Let's meet at Mack's Traverse", this area is just up the hill from the northern most point of the loop road, just across the road from picnic area #59. Due to it's central location to much of the bouldering and ample numbers of south facing lines, it is often used as a meet up point. There are four ledges: from right to left- the Warm-up Boulder, Iron Cross, Mack's Traverse, and the Warm-up Cave. Down the hill a little, near the edge of the little pond are the Lilly Pad Boulders. There are routes from V0 to V11+

Getting There

If coming in from the Twin Rivers Rd entrance off of Rt146, once in the park take a left and find a parking spot, then continue on the road past the gate on foot. Stay to the right on the main road and in a couple minutes the road will pass a little pond on the left and an inlet of Olney pond on your right. Shortly past the water, across from the big dirt parking spot of picnic area #59, you should see a path (picnic site #27) leading up the hill to the left. Hike in a little and look off to your left.

Originally, back in the day, this area was called The Tomato Overhangs, with the Warm-up Cave called The Big Tomato Overhang..a little confusing since there are also the Tomato Boulders
