Does anyone have any good visualization exercises? I tend to get bored with just rehearsing a route or scenario in my mind. I have definitely noticed a difference in focus when climbing, especially in more demanding situations, but am beginning to find it boring. Hopefully someone has some good exercises that are a little more mentally engaging.
Also, I remember reading about a book in Rock and Ice that involved tai chi or something, it sounded interesting at the time but I cant remember the name of it.
Do you get bored while climbing too? The visualization in your mind should feel almost the same as when you're climb. If it doesn't, try focusing a bit more to make it as realistic as you can. "Feel" the moves and holds in your mind. Alas, I agree with you...I find it takes too much time. Instead I'll visualize when I'm resting during attempts. I also like saying a few 'key' words to myself before I try a climb depending on the style/moves/etc.
