One of the best crags in Virginia. Don't go to Joshua Tree to get on superb granite, just head up to the hills, and bring your bear goggles-90% of the bears I've seen in my life up close were hanging out in this area.

Getting There 

If you're trying to navigate Old Rag without Eric Horst's book, you're a fool or a hiker (or both). I bought the book, the descriptions are the best out there, and if you keep a lookout for the triple tree as you near the summit, you'll be fine. I recommend hiking this approach and dialing it before dragging all your stuff up here.
