Description

Good rock climbing, great setting with a stupendous view of the surrounding Blue Ridge, best crag on the mountain when it's warm, usually a nice breeze going, and it's easy to set topropes. Grades range from 5.5 to easy 5.12. Everyone's happy at this crag (as long as they bring tape-GRIPPY rock!)

Getting There

From the 'Attention Hiking Leaders' sign at the summit, hike the blue-blazed Ridge Trail for a couple of minutes until you cross a series of slabs and boulders-the top of the Skyline wall. Descend left or right (I remember right seemed easier and there's a cool keyhole in the rock worth seeing). If you're coming from the Berry Hollow direction, watch on your left for a huge boulder sitting on rock slabs near the beginning of the rocky section of trail. Below this boulder is a narrow, chimney-like corridor that leads to a short descent trail. (thanks to Horst-buy his book)
