Boulders Behind the Main Parking Lot/Visitor Center

Description 

These boulders are spread out on the East side of the Notch (Mt. Mansfield side), and are directly behind the visitor center, bathrooms, and main parking lot.

Within this densely packed area of boulders lives the highest concentration of quality problems in the Notch. Screaming highballs (General Patton's Arete--V3), to short, stubby core-intensive problems (Fishman--V5), to classics (Pac-Man--V3/4); this area can keep you busy for quite a while. Many of the problems in this area dry out quickly due to the elevation and exposure.

Navigating the maze of boulders and caves can be a little frustrating, so find a local to give you the proper tour.

Getting There 

Top of Mountain Road (108). Park at the Main Lot with the bathrooms next to it. The boulders begin directly in front of the lot/visitor center.
