Climb the face for 3 bolts (first 2 bolts shared with Van Idle Route 2), avoiding a couple of loose flakes on the left, to the first roof. Traverse left, low or high, around the roof and climb up to an another corner. Climb up and back right to the anchor.
Franklin's Impact Zone - Hike the trail uphill from the parking lot past the Contact Zone, past most of the Impact Zone, and past the section of talus that marks the trail's highest point. As the trail descends past a downstream-facing section of cliff, turn the corner and continue to the next section of downstream-facing cliff. Van Idle Routes 1 & 2 (Left and Right variations) start right where the trail meets this section of downstream-facing cliff.
