Before I did the descent myself I use to think it looked scary, especially when viewed from Moonlight. It just looks terribly exposed from that perspective. In reality, I've never felt exposed on the descent and it's much more low angle than it appears. Lots of ledges, trees, bushes and such and very secure footing. With snow and ice it might be a different story though. Enjoy.
