The Ledge 5.4
Rate this page: Useful Not Useful
Printer Friendly View Description An agreeable jaunt up the west side of The Appendage on the short faces between several narrow ledges. This line is good for beginning leaders; the three bolts protect the harder bits well and the climbing is straightforward but rewarding.
Location The left-most, bolted line on The Appendage proper; starts just east of the trees that are west of the formation. (There is another 3-bolt route (Butterface ) which is a bit uphill on the next slabby face—it should be obvious that it is harder than 5.4.)
Protection 3 bolts, chain anchors. The chains are reachable via an easy scramble to the left.

By Tristan Higbee From: Provo, Utah Aug 11, 2008 Nothing super fantastic here, but it's entertaining climbing and the rock is solid. The first couple times I climbed this route, the third bolt was missing. It's back now.
