Haven't climbed here yet, but I've hiked it plenty. Can be pretty intense for some people. Lengthy as well. The peak is supposed to be about 6 miles, but by GPS it's at least 7, and the cirque isn't too far off. I don't think I would ever attempt a single day hike-climb-hike down. It's absolutely exhausting on the way down, so I would plan to stay the night somewhere up there.

If you go early enough in the year you will find plenty of run off where you can filter some clean water. Also, apparently there is a spring up there, but I've never gone looking for it.
