Description

This buttress along the lower reaches of the Peruvian Ridge lies between Snowbird and Alta. The Snowbird Ski Patrol calls it the White Cliffs. It entails about a 15 minute approach from the BlackJack condos on the bypass road. Aim for the huge Douglas Fir at the base of the cliffs. First started in 2004, it was led and drilled ground up this summer. Be alert for looseness and rockfall as in the Hellgate.CORDILLERA BLANCA I, 5.10, 2pitches or 1 long onePitch #1: From the tree, climb up passing several bolts and a cool roof to a loose ledge with a two bolt belay. 5.9, 25m.Pitch #2: Climb through the roof past 3 bolts to a arete type finish to the top of the crag.
