Nice, sunny (south facing) area that has some of the best moderate routes in AF.
I am from Colorado, so I road trip to AF. I always thought Escape Buttress was aptly named - we always hit it on the last day, after we are licking our wounds from being beat to death on The Billboard and all of AF's other tough areas.
Side benefit - every time I have been here, I have noticed that there are at least a couple of cute climber chicks cranking away.
The routes are moderate but not super closely bolted, so be solid at the grade and don't get hurt.
Getting There
Park at the Gray Cliffs Picnic Area parking, 1.7 miles up canyon from the visitor center. Follow the paved trail east, paralleling the road, until the trail reaches a picnic area (with bench) and the trail turns into a dirt trail that goes up the hill to a wall with many bolted routes. This is the Hard Rock area.
Follow the trail upcanyon (along the base of the crags) past a couple of crags to Escape Buttress. After passing Hard Rock on your left you will walk past the White Wave Wall (which you can't miss - it looks like a white wave), and around a corner to the grayish Escape Buttress.
