The Route

Description

On a cool but sunny day the party decided to explore the previously unclimbed slab that lies north of Forgotten Buttress. The slab proved very low angle and only a couple of gradable pitches was found on the line chosen, however the rock and views from the summit are perhaps worth the ramble .Descent. Scramble down the left side (north) of the slab and 4th class to the base of the crag. P1) Forth class about 500' trending left to some slim black dyke's .P2)Up the easy dyke's then left to double anchors below a steeper slab. 180' 5.2 P3)Follow slab passed a bolt at mid height and a #2 friend placement to double anchors. 150' 5.4. P4)Easy slab to summit and fine views. 200'5.2.

Location

Park at the pull off to Spotted Wolf Canyon , just before the entrance follow the wash north for about 20 mins to the slab ..see photo

Protection

One #2 friend . One 60m rope
