Sulphur Canyon Area

Description 

Weathered Wingate Sandstone in the southern portion of the San Rafael Swell.

Getting There 

To reach Sulphur Canyon Exit I-70 at exit #131 and turn south (opposite of Buckhorn Wash). Follow signs to Reds Canyon and Tomsich Butte. After driving past Family Butte you drop down into Reds Canyon and will be heading mostly south in a dry river bed. Sulphur Canyon is the first main canyon on the right (west). From exit 131 to the turnoff into Sulphur Canyon is 21.7 miles.
