Pillars of Solomon from dirt road pull off. by P.R...

Description

More of a mountaineering adventure that involves a bit of slot canyoneering, lots of slab srambling and a final one pitch rock climb to a great summit a natural arch and fine views. From I.70 entrance drive 2.1 miles to pull off on right. The pillars are easily seen . It takes about one and a half hours to scramble the slot canyon and the slabs to reach the arch and the foot of The Pillars.. Enter the obvious slot canyon below left of the Pillars. The narrow part of the slot has a fixed static rope( was found in place), without the rope would be about 5.8.Continue up many slabs trending right to the foot of the Pillars where is found the Golden Arch. P1) Climb the groove passed two protection bolts to a fine summit. One of the highest points on the Reef. 180'5.8. Rap anchors.

Protection

One #1 Alien ,One#1 Friend, 4 QDs .Two 9mm x200' ropes for rappell.
