Description

Window Blind Peak is the large landform 1.5 miles south of Assembly hall peak on the east side of the road when driving south from the San Rafael River bridge. It is a long approach but some very good moderate routes to a fine summit Mother Hubbard's Shoe is 0.5 mile north of Window Blind.

Getting There

There are several ways to approach the Windowblind Peak formation. Most common is from the San Rafael bridge campground; Go south for a mile to the first concrete dip in the road, then walk left (east)up the wash to an abandoned drill road, follow this to a boulder filled wash that leads up through the lower rock band towards the north face of Windowblind Peak and Mother Hubbard's Shoe to the right.Routes are described on these formations in Bjornstad's Desert Rock guide Wall St to San Rafael Swell. The West Point Spire is located at the far west end of Mother Hubbard.
