DescriptionA large area of walls and some tower like structures located between the Weasel/Pinnacle area and the Buckhorn Wash. A short access road is located about 3.6 miles from the San Rafael River bridge on the north side of the road. This is followed for one mile to its end. From I70 take ranch exit 131(heading west from Green River) that leads to Buckhorn Wash/ San Rafael Bridge. At about 14 miles the turn off to the Weasel area (cattle guard) will be seen on the left. About 2.5 miles past this, again on the left is the mile long dirt road that leads to a parking area for the approach to the Calf Mesa. The Sphinx Tower is the very obvious formation above and facing the parking area. Several one pitch routes have also been climbed in this area. Getting ThereThe route up the Sphinx Tower is accessed from its north side . The hike from the parking area to the start of the climb takes about one and a quarter hours.
