Description

The Arch Wall is a north/east facing slab of sharp and solid limestone.
This micro-area of The Soul Asylum hosts about six to eight long and varied sport routes with grades ranging from 5.6 to 5.11

The Arch Wall is the second in a series of three relatively close areas in the Soul Asylum. You will know you've reached the wall once you spot a small limestone arch at the apex of the wall's north/east face. The route directly under this arch is the epic Arch Rival.

Getting There

Finding the Arch Wall starts with a swift hike from the Simian Complex parking lot. From the cattle guard, drive 1.9 miles to an intersection, turn left and drive another 0.2 of a mile on bumpy, but ascendable, 2wd terrain to a small parking area on the right. Walk about 0.3 of a mile to a white metal gate. From the gate walk another 0.3 on an eroding dirt road to a deep and wide rut hosting cairns. Follow these east to the Soul Asylum's base.
