Doric Column on the hillside and Fortress Wall jus...

Description

The Mysteries are a beautiful place, but the rock is worse then the Fishers. Do a few routes in the Fishers before making the hike into the Mystery Towers to do a route.

Getting There

There are two main ways into the Mystery towers. You can either walk up a drainage, or hike up a ridge and then drop into the mysteries.
I have only hiked in on the ridge and it was pretty easy route finding and great views. The hike to Doric Column took us about 2 1/2 hours. Drive up onion creek until you pass a bridge. After the bridge there is a small hill, after the crest of the hill drive another few hundred yards and on your left is a no camping sign. Park. Walk up a small drainage, then up a hill that gets you on top of the ridge. There should be a faint trail following the ridge. Follow the ridge until you are getting close to Atlas and can see the Aliens below you. Walk down a steep hill to the Aliens, then walk up the hill on the other side, and walk in between Gothic Nightmare and The Citadel. Across a hillside underneath the Fortress Wall and your there.
Check out Desert Rock III for a more detailed approach.
