Description

Day Canyon is the drainage just north of Longs Canyon. Its mouth on the Colorado is roughly 8 miles west of Moab and it runs roughly east/west for 5 miles paralleling Longs Canyon.

Getting There

You can access Day Canyon from Potash Road roughly two miles north of the mouth of Longs Canyon and a couple miles south of Gold Bar. You can also access the upper reaches of the Canyon (via rappel) off UT 313 and the Dead Horse State Park Road that leads down Longs Canyon.

Go down to the drainage and up, look for the trail leading to the base of the route (small, loose, scree slope). Park it and cl...[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
