Read about Anchor Replacement and Restrictions in Arches National Park

Matt Pickren and Lisa Foster below The Marching Me...

Description

The Marching Men are a group of 7 towers lined up in a row in the Klondike Bluffs area of Arches National Park. Like most of Arches, the formations in this area are comprised of entrada and are relatively soft and sandy. That being said, these towers offer some wonderful and adventurous climbing for those who appreciate the rock quality of Arches. In addition to the Marching Men themselves, there are at least an additional dozen towers out there, most of which have only seen a handful of ascents. Plan on bringing webbing that matches the color of the rock and a knife to remove the tat that you will likely encounter at the anchors.

Getting There

To get to these towers, take the main park road for a little over 15 miles and then turn left on the Salt Valley road. Follow this dirt road to the turn off for the Klondike Bluffs/Tower Arch trailhead. (about 5 or 6 miles) Park at this trailhead. It is also possible to get to this trailhead from the north on the Salt Valley road passing by the Sunshine Wall.

Follow the trail until the Marching Men become obvious on the left and then follow a drainage to the base of your chosen tower.
