Description

Area 51 is a collection of a few remarkably good boulders that are 5 minutes uphill from the parking area. Hard problems like Black Lung (V13) and Resident Evil (V10/11) are just a few feet from easier classics like Super Sloper (V2). Great rock, great landings, a good concentration of problems, and some truly classic problems that get sun until late in the afternoon make this one of the best areas at Joe's.

Getting There

Take the trail from the end of the parking lot uphill, then veer off to the right at an obvious cairn after a minute or two. Follow this trail for another minute or two to the boulders.

Make a big move up to the sharp crimps above and then make a pretty desperate move to the 'starfish' at the top.The crux for me was ei...[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
