The Pillar of Great Price on the right hand side o...
Description
The main face faces due west, but there are many aspects to this choss tower. However the one route that was established on it faced west, but only 1/4 of it remains.
The rock quality SEEMED good, but then it cleaved in half on a cold October morning in 1999
Getting There
From Cedar City find HWY 14. Take this up the canyon for about 7 miles. After the double lanes end and the parking for Latency Tower and Bootleg Butte goes by, keep an eye on the left hand side of the road. There is a "suicide jump" that looks like a crazed person could Thelma and Louise themselves into the gorge. Park on the suicide jump. After parking literally walk over and slide downhill to the stream. A short uphill walk will bring you to this choss spitting tower (it was still raining softball sized rocks in 2001 when i walked over to it)
I may have done the "last ascent" of this route. I soloed the route about 2 months before the tower cleaved in half. RIP the Pillar. I do believe this is my only "last ascent". Does this mean that there is now an unclimbed tower left over?

I think I was overlook as one of the driving forces behind the FA of this tower.
