DescriptionThese two walls are about a mile apart, high above the Scenic Drive in central Capitol Reef park. Both are west facing, and involve a steep, loose hike up from the road. Consequently, their position is quite scenic and uncrowded. Together, they present several fine crack routes from 5.10-.12, with a few truly outstanding climbs. Getting ThereFollow the Scenic Drive south from the visitor center just over 5 miles for the Basketball Wall, and just under 6 miles for Slickrock Divide. Hike up from there, following ridgelines or wash-bottoms if possible to avoid impacting the sensitive desert soils. Locate the routes above you, and scout your approach through the purplish cliff band just below them. 20-30 minutes hiking time.
