Upper Utah Wall Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: Routes on the Upper Utah Wall A. Astronomy 10c/d...
This cliff offers good quality vertical face climbing with small edges. It doesn't get much attention as the approach is steep and loose.
Follow the slope up past the Utah wall routes for about 10 more minutes to arrive at this short yet good quality vertical east facing wall.

Bangkok is the third route from the left at the Upper Utah Wall. It's a pretty fun and consistent climb that has good edging and some slabby feet. On my way to the third bolt, I found it easier to just make another move or two and clip the bolt than waste time and energy trying to wiggle a cam in the shallow, horizontal cracks. You might deck if you fell pulling rope, though. ...[more] Browse More Classics in UT

When hiking to the Upper Utah Wall area, be certain to stay next to the West wall and definitely avoid going up the middle of the gully. The loose rock in the middle is very dangerous and you will knock rocks onto the road below. By hugging the West wall, it is a totally solid and much easier approach.
FA on all routes by Mike Pleinis. Some require trad gear as well as qd's. Astronomy and 911 (not named after 9/11/01) are qd only. Bangkok can be done with qd only, but it might be a little runout for some.

there are some quality climbs here though not many people make it up due to loose rocks and a bit of a hike, worth the approach in my opinion
