A beautiful but rugged drainage with lots of potential for multi-pitch alpine routes. Along with a really nice 90ft Ice route.

Getting There

Follow the directions on the Portnuef range description. The hike up the drainage is rouphly 2.7 miles with no trail. Just use common sense with your route finding, stay out the gut of the drainage and contour as much as possible. Use the travel maps provided and you won't have any problem locating the routes.

Descent: A fir tree at the top of the route has slings on it for rappell, if using 60m rap to the bottom. If using a 30m use the rock thumb half way down on the climbers right for the second rappell.Gear:30m rope can be used to climb the route in one pitch. But a double rappell using a rock thumb half way down will be needed. 60m rope is better if you plan on toproping around on the route.A hand ful of Srews; a few short and longEasiest to rappel than try to find a walk off....[more]   Browse More Classics in ID
