DescriptionNice granite boulders up above Long Lake less than a mile before Wiener lake. Close to road and not too noisy. I put up roughly 35 problems here but there was much I did not have the time to get to. Getting ThereLong Lake is located just before Wiener Lake on the Glen Hwy about 15 miles east of Chickaloon. As you pass the small pullout area for Long Lake the Hwy starts to climb a steep grade. At the top of this grade there is a pullout on your right hand side before the road turns left. Park here. Walk back down the road about 150' and you should notice a small drainage on the uphill side. Walk up left side of drainage until you reach a ridge (about 100') traverse left on this ridge for about 5-10 minutes and you should start to see boulders. The upper boulders are to the right of the ridge bordering the steep drop off to the Glenn Highway. The first and most condensed area in the Upper Boulders is the Bear Rape boulder, Cavitation Boulder and the Tombstone Boulder. There is only one major flat zone below the main mountain you are under so you shouldn't get lost. Reference this video www.myuctv.com/video?id=659 by Tom Ellis, for more beta and a good overview of the area.and you might take a look at it before you go so you have some visual reference upon arrival.
