Uncle Tom's Cabin Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: Uncle Tom's Cabin 1 Andy Knight route. 2 C'est Coo...
Short, vertical, east-facing wall with one bolted sport route and one project. The limestone is very solid with several narrow cracks in the face.
The base of the wall is steep talus ("heinous" in the words of the Ruckman guide).
Proceed up the canyon to the first stream crossing (small wooden bridge). Don't cross the stream but continue on the right (south) side of the stream for about 100 feet (35 steps for me). Turn right up a gully and follow the path. On the right you will pass a small notch that leads to The Zoo
. 150 feet or so up from the notch you will find Uncle Tom's Cabin
on the right side.

Really cool, but pumpy lie-backing up a crack feature that is in-cut on one side, but flaring on the other! The first and second bolt are spaced, so be ready to go full commitment! I found the crux to be toward the top. There's currently a large block toward the top right that seems like it's sketchy, but after cranking, pulling, and standing on it I think it's solid. Felt a lot harder than the other 12A's in the area, so I'm going to say it's 12- and not feel bad about it....[more] Browse More Classics in UT

The "project" is no longer a project, Andy Knight put it up and did send it.
