DescriptionUnaweep Canyon is better known for its rock climbing. There are a few ice climbs here located on the west side of the canyon. The climbs are visible from the road, but due to private land, deadfall, minimal use, and scrub oak, the approaches can be difficult. Getting ThereUnaweep Canyon is accessed by driving south out of Grand Junction on US Highway 50. In the town of Whitewater, turn south onto CO Highway 141. The climbs start appearing approximately 12 miles in. Potential for ice climbs for the next 25 miles. Until about 5 miles from Gateway.
