Trying to get more serious about trad. Does anyone need a second?

Hi All,

I am trying to get started into trad climbing. I have experiences following others, read some trad books, and have practiced setting gear and anchors on the ground. Having recently moved to Seattle I dont know any trad climbers and would like to keep following to keep learning about placements and mulitpitch technique. Does anyone need a partner? I am happy to second, belay projects, and drive!

Howdy Peter!
I'll be moving up to that area around mid-May. Going to try and take a few trips to Squamish during that time. Feel free to shoot me a PM and we'll get in touch.

Hey! I'm moving up to tacoma in the beginning of June.

I'm also getting into trad climbing. Similarly, I've seconded a bunch of times, but haven't done any trad leads yet. Actually planning on taking a trad course, with the american alpine institute out of leavenworth, at the end of June.

PM me if you're interested in getting together and climbing or want to try to get into the class with me!

Here is the class I was talking about: alpineinstitute.com/catalog…

I've found that if you head over to cascadeclimbers.com and post on the partner forum for a trip to a specific crag on a specific weekend, someone usually bites (albeit at the last minute). I'm sure people will be happy to have you belay them and teach you a thing or two :)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
