Trip to Japan Fuji in March?

Hello,

I am an american climber looking for information on making a winter ascent of mount Fuji. I will be traveling to Japan by sailboat and space will be at a minimum. Does anyone know if there is anywhere that might rent climbing equipment (ie, axe, crampons, tent) at that time of year? I am definitely in the pre-planning stages here, but any info would be greatly appreciated. I have also read that occasionally certain huts can be open in the winter months. Does anyone have contact information for any of them? Another thought I had was that there might be some sort of climbing club or guide service that I could link up with to help with the logistics. Has anyone done this?
