DescriptionSay what!? Not off the beaten track and not often visited - this is a nice little peak with a great ridge traverse. The next peak north from Mount Goode (north of Bishop Pass). Getting ThereStart at the South Lake trailhead and hike toward Bishop Pass. Follow the trail to Long Lake, cross over it's headwaters and hike up a shallow valley SW to Margaret Lake, which is a good base for both Trapezoid and Goode (North Buttress). 3.5 miles and 1,500 ft elevation gain. This is an excellent long and exposed ridge traverse with spectacular views.Gain the first summit by scrambling up its NE ridge, the odd Class 4 moves here and there. Follow the main horizontal ridge, keep right at the occasional impasse - the views across to Trapezoid's monolithic Northeast Wall are awe-inspiring. The ridge ends at a some towers and a notch.
